World Read Aloud Day TODAY http://litworld.org/worldreadaloudday.

Find out why it is important and tips on how to do it from our National Library http://schools.natlib.govt.nz/creating-readers/teachers/reading-aloud#Resources%20on%20reading%20aloud.

It is enjoyable and useful even for teenagers (Are students ever too old?) , even for adults. So make a favour to someone by reading aloud to them.

What

Read a picture book or a chapter of a book you like, or an article in the papers or an entry in the encyclopedia. Examples of great books to share:

  • The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
  • Love That Dog by Sharon Creech
  • Weslandia by Paul Fleischman (Picture book)
