We had the pleasure to welcome Bob Docherty, ‘the book talker”, in the library last Wednesday. Four Y7 and Y8 classes have enjoyed listening to his presentation of about twenty MACLIC books and a few new books too.
In 2 or 3 minutes, with a book in the hand, he talked about the plot, what is special with the book, the reading level, he sometimes reads a page, leave a few hints for reading and how reading is good for you…
The most popular are Don’t Call me Jojo, Cirque du Freak, Night Hunting, Wolf Brother and Red Kayak, on which there are many reserves.
You can find his book recommendations on his blog http://bobsbooksnz.wordpress.com/
When was this?
because 8CB did not get to go!(unfair)
It was on the 24th March in the morning. I had informed all the teachers so maybe there was something else planned for your class. I will have to invite him again then! Florence
